2. Services

Human First Therapy provides psychotherapy and counselling services in Ottawa, Ontario. Information on this website is for general informational purposes and does not constitute medical or therapeutic advice. The therapeutic relationship begins only when a formal agreement is established between you and your therapist.

3. Appointments & Cancellations

Appointments can be scheduled through our contact form, by phone, or by email. We require at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Missed appointments or late cancellations may be charged the full session fee. In case of emergencies, please contact us as soon as possible.

4. Fees & Payment

Therapy fees vary by therapist and are listed on individual therapist profile pages. Fees range from $140 to $300 per session. Payment is due at the time of service. We do not bill insurance companies directly, but we provide receipts for submission to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement.

5. Confidentiality

All information shared during therapy sessions is confidential and protected under the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the standards of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). There are limited exceptions to confidentiality as required by law, including:

  • Imminent risk of harm to yourself or others
  • Suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable person
  • A court order requiring disclosure
  • As otherwise required by law

Your therapist will discuss the limits of confidentiality with you at the beginning of your therapeutic relationship.

6. Professional Standards

Our therapists are registered with or in the process of registering with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and adhere to their standards of professional conduct. All therapists carry professional liability insurance.

7. Website Use

You may use this website for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

  • Use the website in any way that could damage or impair its availability
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the website
  • Use the website to transmit harmful or malicious content

8. Intellectual Property
